I have started a new page titled "Special Events". Here I plan to post pictures of any special events that take place throughout the year. I haven't posted any pictures yet, but plan to very soon.
I would like to start off by saying how very proud I was of our students' performance in this year's Christmas program. The students spent many hours preparing for the program and did an amazing job!
Once we were finished with the program, it was back to business as usual. We are working on beat, rhythm, high and low sounds, and loud and soft sounds in the lower grades. In the upper grades, we are working on note value and pitch names.
We have pretty much finished up our unit on color theory. Second and third grade are finishing up on their project. All other classes have either already began or are about to begin their units on line. During this unit, students will be learning different line styles and studying the use of lines in art. After a short study of lines, each class will create a project using what they have learned about the use of lines in art.
The students are continuing to learn and practice their keyboarding skills. The lower grades (4K - 2) have been finding letters on the keyboard by creating a Word document. First and second grades have also learned how to change font style, size, and color, as well as how to insert images from clip art and online. The upper grades have been learning and practicing basic keyboarding skills. Sixth grade also had the opportunity one day, when the internet was down, to learn how to create a table in Microsoft Word to create a calendar.
