April proved to be a very quiet month for us. It was pretty much business as usual. In math, we finished a unit on geometry, telling time, and measurement. We then began addition of 2-digit numbers. You should see the big numbers we can add now! In phonics we worked on inflection endings; -ed, -ing, -er, -est. In reading we used the glossary in the back of our books to look up our vocabulary words. In language we worked on nouns (subjects), verbs (predicates) and complete sentences. We plan on using our knowledge of writing complete sentences to write a class story which was inspired by our visit from Loralee Pearson, the author of the Penny stories. We have also been very busy making a paper chain rainbow, which we are putting up around our classroom door.
