Thank you Vets
Three veterans from the American Legion visited our classroom. They taught us the history of the American flag and the symbolism of the stars, stripes and colors of the flag. They also taught us how to care for the flag as well as how and when to raise and lower the flag. Before leaving they gave each of us our very own flag.
Zoo Pal Thanksgiving
We made Pilgrims and Native Americans out of Zoo Pal paper plates.
It's Beginning to Sound A Lot Like Christmas
In music we are preparing for our Christmas program with Mrs. Baeten. Our program is on December 17th.
Addition and Subtraction Masters
In math we have been practicing several strategies for addition. These strategies include circle drawings, stair steps, math mountains, number cards, and counting on. We also started learning strategies for subtraction. These strategies include picture drawings and circle drawings and writing equations.
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!???
Last Tuesday we had a lot of fresh snow to play in. We were able to make snow angels, play on the snow hill, make snowballs, and make snow forts.

Getting Ready for December
On Wednesday, December 17th, the 1st grade class will be participating in the school Christmas program being held at the Luxemburg-Casco High School auditorium. The program begins at 6:45pm.
On Friday, December 19th, the 1st and 2nd grade students will be spreading the Spirit of Christmas as we sing Christmas carols, ring bells and collect donations for the Salvation Army at Stodola's IGA from 9:00am to 10:00am.
On December 23rd, 1st grade will be having their annual Christmas party and gift exchange. Students who wish to participate in the gift exchange are asked to bring a gift (no more than $5) with their name on it.
