Our students in grades 3-6 are enjoying the musical, "The Music Man' and will also be working on music activities associated with the musical after viewing it.
4k students were kept busy working on some springtime projects in April. They used their knowledge of lines to decorate an Easter Egg and used a mixture of water and glue to make an April shower picture. Last week they made a circle flower collage complete with fringed-paper grass. This week they started on a summer flip-flop project. Kindergarten students finished their Mondrian inspired "Broadway Boogie Woogie" projects and began a positive/negative space project. First and second grade students also finished their Mondrian inspired art projects and have been working on a super cute oil pastel baby bird project. Third and fourth grade students were introduced to Vincent van Gogh and are in the process of finishing a van Gogh inspired, oil pastel flower drawing. They are doing a fabulous job on this project! Fifth and sixth grade students have been working on different" Sharpie" techniques and will be starting on their final "Sharpie" project next week.
Just a reminder, we are back outside for phy ed. Please be sure that your child is dressed for the cooler morning temperatures and has an extra pair of shoes for that day.
4k students are continuing to work on their mouse and keyboarding skills. Last week they had fun drawing and coloring pictures using the "Tux Paint" program. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade were introduced to the home row. Although they are not being taught the correct fingering, they are practicing keeping their fingers on the home row and moving them up to the top row and down to the bottom row to type letters with fingers closest to the letter they want to type. Grade 3 has learned and is practicing the letter on the top row and will be learning the bottom row over the next couple of weeks. Grades 4 through 6 are continuing to work on their keyboarding and internet skills.
